join the kindred

Welcome to the Sacred Way Kindred. We are honored by your interest in walking this path with us. However, understand that this journey is not for the couch quarterback who sits back and complains about the need for change. This is for the individual who wants to be the change—who embodies action, not just words. We seek those who don’t merely chase the light but are the light. You will be asked to show dedication, service, and honor as part of this kindred, in alignment with the principles of the Sacred Way—strength, honesty, and responsibility.

Here is the process you will undertake to become a full member of our kindred:

Phase 1: Initial Application and Orientation

In the first month, you will go through an informal interview, where we will discuss the values that guide our kindred and what is expected of you during this journey. You will also be assigned a mentor—an established member from your chosen path—who will guide you through the nine-month probationary period.

At this time, you will also attend an orientation, where you’ll learn about our history, the Sacred Way Code, and how to embody these principles in your life. This is your chance to familiarize yourself with our traditions and the responsibilities you are committing to.

Phase 2: Nine-Month Probationary Period

Over the next nine months, you will be required to demonstrate your commitment to the Sacred Way through consistent acts of service to the community. Twice a month, you will be expected to go out of your way to perform meaningful acts of service that align with our core values.

Service Expectations:

Your service should have a tangible impact on the community, whether it’s organizing a neighborhood event, volunteering at shelters, or providing support to those in need.

Examples of acceptable service include helping neighbors with tasks, volunteering at food banks, or organizing security watches to protect the community.

Every month, you will document your service. You will be asked to provide proof, such as photos, testimonials from those you’ve helped, or a personal reflection on how the service aligns with our values.

Monthly Mentor Check-In:

Each month, you will meet with your mentor to review your service activities. This meeting is an opportunity for you to discuss your progress, receive feedback, and ensure you are aligning with the Sacred Way Code. Your mentor will support you as you deepen your connection with the kindred.

You are also encouraged to attend path meetings, where you’ll learn more from fellow members and actively participate in the path’s ongoing projects.

Phase 3: Final Review and Evaluation

At the end of the nine months, your mentor and the council of elders will review your progress. They will evaluate your commitment to serving the community, your adherence to the principles of the Sacred Way, and your participation in kindred activities. You will be asked to write a final reflection on what you’ve learned during this time and how you have embodied the values of the Sacred Way.

Phase 4: Full Membership Initiation

Upon successfully completing the probationary period, you will be invited to a full membership initiation ceremony, where you will take an oath to the kindred, and receive a sacred token to symbolize your official membership. This token will serve as a constant reminder of your responsibility to the kindred and the community.

In Case of Non-Completion or Extension

If you are unable to meet the expectations, your probationary period may be extended, or your application could be reconsidered. Should this occur, your mentor and elders will provide you with feedback and guidance to help you improve.

We look forward to seeing your dedication unfold over the next nine months. Let your service and honor shine as a reflection of the Sacred Way, and may you grow in strength and wisdom as you walk this path with us.
